Ambassador Challenge
This year, we’re giving a select group of students from Years 10 and 11 the chance to join us on a three week tour of Cambodia. It’s called the Ambassador Challenge, and it’s brought to you in collaboration with our Cambodian partner organisation, KAPE.
The Challenge is about finding future leaders for us to share our knowledge and experience with. The eight students selected for the Ambassador Challenge will have the chance to:
• Engage in issues that face the developing world
• Learn about Cambodian society, history and culture
• Successfully organise and run fundraisers and appeals
• Develop their leadership potential
The Tour
The Ambassador Challenge Tour is the centrepiece of the Challenge, involving a three-day team-building course in Melbourne, followed by a three week educational tour in Cambodia, accompanied by the Ambassador Challenge team.
Eight students will have the opportunity to help improve education for children in Cambodia and increase their chance of a brighter future.
The program is structured around the busy schedules of students, and will be delivered in short bursts during low schoolwork periods. The tour will begin before the conclusion of school terms, and students will be assisted in managing this.

Application Process
Who can apply?
The Ambassador Challenge is open to students involved in Oaktree programs across Australia who will complete Years 10 or 11 in 2013.
Application Criteria
We are searching for students who can demonstrate leadership potential, with a proven commitment to the Schools 4 Schools program and its goal of ‘providing life changing educational opportunities for young people in developing communities.’
Applications for 2013 will close May 10.

Speaking Tour
One group working on this is KAPE, Oaktree’s partner in Cambodia. Last year, Schools 4 Schools brought Rumdourl Men, Project Manager of the Beacon Schools Initiative, over to Australia for a two-week tour speaking to students about the remarkable progress that has been made in Cambodia and what we can do to help.
For more information and to find out how your school can get involved, contact Prachi at p.rao@theoaktree.org.

Partner Program
A dedicated mentor will visit your school each week to deliver a high quality curriculum that covers aid and development, leadership, social justice issues both in Cambodia and in a global context.
The program concludes with a fundraising event in Term 3 to raise funds to support our partner schools in Cambodia.
Students involved with the Partner program are also given the unique opportunity to participate in the S4S State Summits, Live Below the Line, Speaking Tour and Ambassador Challenge.
Currently S4S has 16 partner schools across Australia which together raised $30,000 in 2011. Click here to find out what we’ve been up to!

State Summits
How much can you absorb in a day? The Schools 4 Schools (S4S) State Summit will put that to the test. A variety of guest speakers, prizes and simulation games will keep students on their toes as they develop a greater understanding of the issues facing their peers living in poverty overseas.
The Summit will be held separately in each of the S4S states in 2013. It’ll be an action-packed and interactive one-day conference, designed to alert students of the reality of extreme global poverty and the development challenges that come with it.
The Summit is also a great opportunity for students to learn about Oaktree’s Live Below the Line initiative, and will provide the perfect opportunity to sign up on the day!
To find out more, download the 2012 State Summits Pamphlet.
Registrations for 2013 will be opening soon.
