Election 2010
On August 21st, 2010 voters all around Australia will be going to the polls to decide the make up of government for the next 3 years.
During the election campaign, we’ll be working to ensure that the message of the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY campaign and the plight of world’s poorest people is not forgotten. To this end, we’re supporting community forums and grassroots action across the country.
In marginal electorates, our members will be engaging voters in creative and innovative ways and on the weekend before the election we’ll hit the streets to speak face to face to thousands of swinging voters about the foreign aid policies of the major parties.
The Act to End Poverty

In the last 20 years, we’ve halved extreme poverty. Your action can end it.
The Act to End Poverty is petition that seeks to unite all Australians. It’s a recognition that we’ve had success in the fight to end global poverty and that our leaders have the power to do more. We’re asking 100,000 people to sign the Act to demonstrate a critical mass of community support.
On May 31st the Act to End Poverty was moved through the House of Representatives. This was an amazing victory for our campaign but we still need more signatures to represent the full extent of the support for the movement to MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY.
