Volunteer Today!

Working at Oaktree is an unique experience

Do you wonder where the best place is for you to have a significant impact on issues like global poverty? Want real responsibility, in an organisation run entirely by passionate like-minded young people? If so, then a position with Oaktree is for you!

You can have a significant impact on global poverty now

Whether it is through raising tens of thousands of dollars for schools in the Asia Pacific, meeting with Members of Parliament, inspiring hundreds of students at a school or leading a team of volunteers – there is nowhere else for you to have such a significant impact in the fight against extreme poverty.

You can take on real and significant responsibility

We are lead entirely by people under the age of 26. This means we devise our organisational strategy, lead our teams, build our websites, create our videos, manage large complex budgets, work with our key external stakeholders and much more. Whether it is building a relationship with a corporate or school, or leading a project with a budget of $50,000 – at Oaktree there is real responsibility, right away.

You will develop an incredible practical skills set and have amazing experiences

Working with Oaktree will set you up with an incredible practical skills set. Project management, overseeing aid and development projects, leadership and team management, strategy, pitching, public speaking, facilitation, campaigning and communications are at the heart of what we do as Oaktree volunteers.

You will have access to some life changing opportunities

A role with us opens up doors, whether it is job prospects, entry into aid and development programs, overseas travel opportunities, internships, awards or advanced training. In fact our Extended Leadership Team is currently mentored and trained by Boston Consulting Group, one of the leading management consulting firms in the world, and we have exclusive access to their internships. Our former volunteers are now in many places, from NGOs like World Vision, law firms like Freehills and management consulting firms like the Boston Consulting Group.

You will be amongst incredible people

At Oaktree you will find yourself amongst dedicated, like-minded people, some of Australia’s most incredible young leaders. Oaktree is far more than simply volunteering. We are a group of young people who often form life long friendships that extend beyond our time at Oaktree.

Check out the roles below for all the amazing opportunities that are avilable right now. Can’t find something that suits you, or not quite sure where to start? Fill out this form and we’ll be in touch really soon!
